Jake Abbott is a Clinical Psychology Registrar. Jake is devoted to assisting individuals in overcoming challenges and unlocking their full potential. He places a strong emphasis on creating a safe and empathetic therapeutic environment, encouraging clients to openly discuss their thoughts and feelings.

Prioritising connection with clients, Jake ensures a positive and supportive therapeutic experience. Employing a variety of evidence-based modalities and strategies, he aims to facilitate growth and positive change in clients he works with.

Jake has gained experience working with diverse demographics, including young people, families facing significant crises, and adults dealing with various presenting problems. Additionally, he has contributed to the ACU undergraduate psychology program through various teaching roles.

With a specific interest in trauma, Jake is interested in the intricate relationship between physical and mental well-being. He adopts a holistic perspective, recognizing the profound impact that physical health can have on mental health, and vice versa. Jake has a particular interest in working with first responders and has completed advanced training in EMDR.
