Helen holds a Masters of Psychology (Clinical) and has over ten years of psychology experience. She is a warm, non-judgemental and genuine clinician who loves working collaboratively with people. She is a passionate psychologist and believes in breaking the stigma around mental health. Helen supports adults in individual therapy to lead more fulfilling lives, grow and improve their quality of life.

Helen has psychology experience within private practice, community centre, university clinic, inpatient and outpatient hospital, school, employment services, and volunteer organisation settings. She has worked with children, adolescents and adults with a range of psychological issues.

Helen is a very understanding practitioner, having worked with people from various walks of life including various cultural backgrounds, LGBTIQ+ individuals, people with physical disabilities, ATSI individuals, and unemployed people.

Helen uses a compassionate person-centred approach in therapy and provides a safe space to be heard and understood. She is skilled in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness and Schema Informed Therapy. Helen provides individualised treatment tailored to your needs.

Helen completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Sydney and postgraduate studies at Macquarie University. She holds a Master of Psychology (Clinical) from the Australian College of Applied Psychology and her research thesis investigated perfectionistic thinking, rumination, worry and psychological distress.

Helen consults at Calvert & Associates Psychology every Friday and every second Tuesday.
